INTRO
In 1 Corinthians 13:4, we learn the characteristics of love that all Christians should exemplify but as we all know this is no easy task. Not even taking into consideration what the world throws at you, but of the battle that rages inside of you. the battle to think right, speak right, and conduct yourself in a manner pleasing to God.But the good news is that it gets easier and easier the more you study the word of God (water the seeds). It all ties together and if you write these characteristics of love "on the tablets of your heart", you can bring them into consciousness whenever needed to remind you of, how to be. Amen to that bayoulady,I thank God everyday for chosing me to serve him.I had been slack in my duties for too long.I guess I was trying to find the best way to serve. My Pastor had me in the pulpit doing the Invocation and call to worship, I thought that was it.But My soul was restless, it was as if I still was'nt doing what I was called to do.Then the hub pages,and do you know in the short time I have been serving here he has poured out blessing after blessing.Talk about favor and grace. Like they say "you take one step and God will take two". You know this could have been the start of a new hub?

Every good thing in life comes from the love of God in our hearts. Even the good thing of finding a new brother - glad I found you.

The Lord is my Sheppard he is with me always
He leads me into his green valley, there to graze
For I am one of his flock you see
Giving him all the glory and taking none for me
Every step I take, every hair on my head
Is counted by him until I am dead
Dead to this world and all it's misgivings
And born anew, my real life to start living
To spend an eternity with he
Who loved me enough to show grace and mercy
His mercy, unmerited favor, as it was
He shows mercy just because
He is the one true God and he is love
And as we know, love is patient, love is kind
Love always considers the others state of mind
Love does not envy Love does not boast
Love doesn't consider itself, Love gives others a toast
Love is not proud, Love is not rude
Love doesn't blow it's own horn as it tramples over you
Love is not self seeking, Love cares for others
With the nurturing love of a virtuous mother
Love is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong
Love is always at peace and forgives all day long
Love does not delight in evil
But rejoices with truth
So in times of upheaval you must remain true
True to the words of our God and he will be there for you
Because love always protects, always trusts
Always hopes, always perseveres;
Love never fails. God never fails.

We are indeed so blessed to have such mercy and "unmerited favor"!When you spoke of the battle, it reminded me of Joyce meyer's book the Battle Field of the Mind" We have to conquer our wrong thoughts in oder to please the Lord!
